Album - The GameBookmark, Print, or Share this page! Album Details
The Game was the eighth studio album by Queen, released 30th June 1980. It was the only Queen album to reach #1 in the US where it became their best selling studio album with four million copies sold to date. Notable songs on the album include the bass-driven Another One Bites the Dust and the rockabilly Crazy Little Thing Called Love, both of which reached #1 in the US. The Game was the first Queen album to use a synthesiser, in the form of an Oberheim OB-X. The album features a more pop/rock sound than its predecessor, Jazz. The album's style would be augmented on Queen's next release Hot Space, and other future albums. The Game is the shortest of Queen's studio albums at only 35 minutes, but despite that is estimated to have sold over 12 million copies worldwide. |
